What is FarmHouse?
FarmHouse is a Greek Social Fraternity that exists on thirty university campuses across the United States and Canada. FarmHouse opens the door to endless possibilities during your college career such as participating in intramurals, Student Government, IntraFraternity Council, and making friends that you will have for the rest of your life. At the University of Kentucky, we take great pride in that we have the strongest and most dedicated brotherhood on the entire campus, and when asked "What is FarmHouse?" most of our members will reply with "Brotherhood." Not only do we stress the social aspect of college, but we also weigh heavily the scholastic achievement of all of our members.
The objective of FarmHouse is "To Build the Whole Man"

The Name
The name "FarmHouse" sometimes suggests that the fraternity is only for agriculture majors. However, our men are extremely diverse. The Kentucky Chapter has majors from the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business and Economics, Medicine, Engineering, Communications, and several more.

Rush
The first procedure in joining FarmHouse is attending Rush. Rush is a week-long event in which all of the fraternities on campus open their doors to prospective members. The week is generally the first week of classes and is held during the evening hours. Our fraternity usually hosts several events throughout the week such as live bands, card games, basketball shoot around, karaoke, socializing with sorority women, corn hole tournaments, etc.
During Rush, selected applicants can be given a bid. A bid is a document that formally invites a prospective member to join FarmHouse. Once a prospective member receives a bid, the Recruitment Chairmen will inform him of when the bid can be formally accepted. |

Pledging
Upon the acceptance of a bid into FarmHouse Fraternity, prospective members must undergo a ten-week pledgeship period. Pledgeship is a time that almost every member will agree is one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences of their time at UK. Pledgeship is a time to get to know the active members, pledge brothers, and the history and legacy of FarmHouse. Upon completion of pledgeship, members are considered to be a junior active member and will become a fully active member after completing a semester earning a 2.5 GPA or above.
