| Fall 2009 Community Service |
|
FarmHouse continued to exemplify our passion for serving the community during the 2009 fall semester. Many of our members participated in UK Fusion, the largest service event at UK. We continued to be leaders on campus by winning Homecoming which included many service events. We also lent a helping hand in many other events around Lexington such as Race for the Cure and Light the Night. The 2009 Special Olympics State Bowling Tournament was our final event of the semester. We helped participants bowl and awarded trophies to the athletes.

| Leukemia and Lymphoma Society |
|
FarmHouse Fraternity’s International Philanthropy is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services. In the fall semester, we helped set up the Light the Night event by filling balloons and setting up tables. Light The Night Walk events are evenings filled with inspiration. Carrying illuminated balloons, thousands of walkers form a community of caring, bringing light to the dark world of cancer.

| In April of 2009, the Kentucky Chapter of Farm House fraternity traveled to Camp KYSOC in Carrollton, KY. Camp KYSOC provides a unique camping experience for children and adults with physical or developmental disabilities including learning and behavioral disorders or eating disorders. The men of Farm House helped with pre-camp clean up, organization, and general needs. As always the staff there was greatly excited to see the group that attended and were very blessed in the help that they received. The KY chapter strives on community service and excels at making the name Farm House at the university a very respectable one to be a part of. Camp KYSOC Brochure Pictures coming soon! |
